Cannon Constructors, San Francisco, CA, is a full-service general contracting firm with a strong and varied background in the Bay Area's multi-family residential and loft style multi-family housing market. Martin Samuels, a businessman with a successful track record in real estate and other ventures, was looking to more fully materialize his lifelong commitment to sustainability. Responding to a discussion with Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown, in which the mayor challenged developers to build projects to revitalize the city and provide a standard for development in the 21st century, Mr. Samuels embarked on his planning for such a project.
After working with Monterey Bay Resources to purchase an ideal location, Mr. Samuels assembled a team of like-minded individuals and companies and founded GreenCity Development Group (GCDG). Their mission: to fulfill the common vision they shared of building an exemplary, cutting-edge, green, urban infill project. GreenCity Lofts represents that vision, and is the culmination of this team's work.
